How to Fix Popla Foothills Skyview Tower in TOTK
Exploring the expansive world of Hyrule requires mapping out every region to easily navigate key landmarks and sky islands. When players arrive at the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower, they quickly notice that the activation terminal is unpowered and unresponsive. Fixing this landmark involves a quick rescue mission beneath the surface to free an unequipped mechanic.
Locating the Inactive Terminal and Nearby Clues
The Popla Foothills Skyview Tower sits perched on high ground south of Hyrule Field near the Faron Grasslands border. Upon reaching the entrance, interacting with the terminal reveals that the console lacks electrical power. Just outside the structure, players will spot the Popla Foothills North Well. Jump down into the well to hear calls for help coming from deep inside the cave system.
Finding the Trapped Mechanic Underground
Navigating through the well leads to a set of cracked boulders blocking a side path. Break through these obstacles using a hammer weapon or bomb flowers to reveal a hidden passageway. Down the hall, you will encounter Elmerson, an inspector locked inside a gated cell. He explains that he accidentally triggered a trap while investigating rumors of local treasure.
Reaching the Popla Foothills Excavation Site
Because the cell door cannot be opened from inside the well, use the Ascend ability to return directly to the surface. Head south from the tower and drop down the edge of the cliff face. Look for the entrance to the Popla Foothills Excavation Site cave near the base of the mountain. Enter the cave tunnel and follow the main path until you reach the opposite side of Elmerson's locked cage.
Releasing Elmerson and Restoring Power
In front of the cage, you will see a large floor switch embedded in the ground. Step onto the switch or place a heavy object on top of it using Ultrahand to open the iron gate. Elmerson will express his gratitude, reward you with Rupees, and immediately return to the surface to repair the tower console. Use Ascend once again to pop back up to the tower grounds.
Activating the Tower and Mapping the Region
When you return to the Skyview Tower, Elmerson will be standing beside the fully functional control terminal. Interact with the blue panel to initialize the launch system and step onto the central pad. Launching into the air updates your map for both the surface and sky regions surrounding Lake Hylia and the Faron region. This also creates a permanent fast travel point for future journeys across Hyrule.
